About
Leonard Lambert resides in Snohomish, Washington. He is a Coast Guard veteran who served aboard the USCGC Polar Sea and USCGC Mallow as a navigator (Quartermaster). He has worked as an Able Bodied Seaman (AB) for ChevronTexaco and government contracted vessels (MSC) through Seafarer’s International Union.
He has worked as a limited tonnage mate and master for a tug and barge, passenger vessels and coastal freighters in Puget Sound including research vessels in the Gulf of Mexico. He has sailed as an unlimited second and third mate for government vessels (MSC) through the Master, Mates and Pilots union and commercial container ships (Matson). He holds a second mate unlimited, 1600 ton master’s license and is currently working his way toward an unlimited master’s license and an active membership to the Masters, Mates and Pilots union.
In his career, he has been a working union member of SIU, SUP, MEBA and MMP. He received his BA from the University of Washington in communications and was one of the first hawsepipers in Seattle under the new STCW ’95 rules.
Leonard is a Coast Guard approved and experienced instructor who teaches for maritime schools in Puget Sound.
